Dr. Marjetka Podobnik is Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Nanobiotechnology at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Ljubljana. Her research group uses integrative structural biology approaches to study the relationship between structure and function in processes such as DNA damage repair, the infection cycle of plant viruses and the formation of transmembrane pores by toxic proteins, and to explore how this knowledge can be used in biotechnology. She is the national coordinator of Instruct-ERIC, which provides researchers around the world with access to high-quality integrative structural biology services and techniques.
