Prof. Jelena Vekić, PharmD, PhD, is a Full Professor at University of Belgrade-Faculty of Pharmacy. She holds a specialist degree in medical biochemistry and a sub-specialist degree in clinical immunochemistry. Her scientific interest is focused on lipidomics, including investigation of structure-functional properties of lipoproteins and molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of lipid/lipoprotein metabolism. The main areas of her research include: atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. She published more than 95 papers in international journals and held invited lectures at international and national conferences (H-index: 24). Prof. Vekić has been listed in the Stanford’s list World’s Top 2% Scientists. She participated in realization of several national and international research projects. She is a member of the Editorial Board of international journals “Archives of Medical Science” and “Frontiers in Endocrinology” and a member of several professional organizations.
